Now comes the fun part-selecting a place to visit that should appeal to your travel interests and activity preferences. The following list ranks destinations from high to low in likely appeal for you, separated according to U.S. states, U.S. cities, international countries (including Canadian provinces), and international cities-regions.
You will notice in the groupings below that we distinguish destinations in a couple of different ways. First, we assign a numeric score from a possible high of 10 to a low of 1 based on ratings of each destination by people with your personality type who visited the destination recently and rated it in our surveys. Then we also convert that to a common rating system of platinum, gold, silver, bronze and the “also rans” to make it easier for you to select the most promising places. Platinum destinations are those that score high among all personality types. This is important to consider if you find that you and your travel partner have different personality types and might find it difficult to enjoy the same places. Platinum destinations offer enough choices for all personality types so that everyone can go home pleased with the trip. Gold destinations rate very high for your personality, followed by silver and bronze selections.
One thing to consider, almost all places to visit offer scenic and activity choices that you would enjoy, even if the place scores low for your type, if someone just pointed these out to you. Our destination descriptions include suggestions for most personalities. So you may want to read about activities suggested for your personality even for places that do not rank high for you.
